Job 22:21-24

Job 22:21-24: “Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart. If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles. Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.”

This is all good, biblical advice. If we hadn’t already seen evidence to the contrary, we might conclude that Eliphaz has a fair grasp of God, and what He expects from us. When you develop a close relationship with your Creator, you gain access to Peace that passes all understanding. Staying on His narrow path to salvation leads to good things beyond human comprehension. Look to the Lord for guidance along your way, and keep His Word in your heart. Then, you will be able to resist temptations and avoid the pitfalls of sin and iniquity. Your house, however lowly and humble it is, will stand firm against any storm because you have built it on the Firm Foundation of Christ. Here, at least, Eliphaz is right!
