1 Corinthians 2:9-11 – “But as it is written, ‘Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.’ But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.”
Have you ever read a passage of Scripture that made no sense at all, but later, the meaning became clear? What was it that brought the truth into focus for you? Was it your own study? The ‘right’ set of circumstances? Someone else’s explanation? Where did they get the answer? God has hidden nearly infinite messages in His Word, waiting for individuals to approach them through the gift of the Holy Spirit, so they might be revealed at the appropriate moment. The Lord’s Spirit is the essential facilitator who translates the words in Scripture into direct communication with the Creator. You cannot know God, unless you are in communion with His Spirit.
