1 Corinthians 2:6-8 – “Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: but we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”
Apparently, Paul only shared God’s wisdom with those he thought were perfect. What manner of perfection must you attain before the Lord will reveal Himself to you? Why does the wisdom of this world, and the wisdom of human leaders, always fall short, no matter how right or true it is? The irony of this mystery is that it has never been a mystery at all. Mankind has known from the very beginning that the God who created them has expectations for them. But Satan planted (or cultivated?) the seeds of rebellion and independence in their hearts. Those seeds continue to bear fruit in every person on earth, and will perpetually do so until His return. Who is crucifying the Lord of glory today?
