1 Corinthians 2:12-13 – “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”
What does the spirit of the world tell you? What standards and values have you adopted from your local, national, racial or denominational culture? Do they all align with God’s values? How do you know? Have you been misled into thinking some things are of God, when they are really of the world? What are some examples of this phenomenon? When you speak, are you repeating what you have heard from those in the world, or do you only utter what the Holy Spirit prompts you to say? What should you say if He doesn’t give you any words? Have you developed the habit of comparing what you are taught with the spiritual wisdom of God? What do you do when there is a difference, or a conflict? How much of your life is devoted to spiritual things? What was Christ’s percentage?
