1 Corinthians 1:30-31 – “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: that, according as it is written, ‘He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.’”
What are some of the things you thought were wise, but turned out to be foolishness? Are you one of those who thought the cross of Christ was ludicrous, only to learn that it was you who was being foolish? Why did the Lord choose to reveal His Son to us in this way? If the Father is truly omnipotent, why didn’t He simply eradicate sin when it reared its ugly head in Satan to begin with? Where is the wisdom in creating two pure, innocent beings, only to allow them to be corrupted and cast out? There are many aspects of God’s behavior over the centuries that might be deemed foolish by those who have reckoned themselves wise. But who is qualified to judge what is wise, and what is foolish? Who is the author of wisdom? Who personifies righteousness? Regardless: you need sanctification. You will perish without Christ’s redemption. When you are in Christ Jesus, God is glorified.
