1 Corinthians 1:13-16

1 Cor 1:13-16: “Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.”
The differences between individuals, families, groups, and nations are endless. Some, like Job’s friends, look at living conditions to determine the level of someone’s faith. Some look at skin color, ethnicity or nationality. People have always tended to compare themselves with others. Did the Lord create each of us uniquely so we could divide ourselves into classes or castes? Does He love Israel more than Gentiles? Did He send different Messiahs to each people group to guide them to salvation? There are so many representations of Jesus Christ, how do you determine who the Real Son of God is? Do you choose someone who seems knowledgeable and sincere, and adopt their way of life? Do you follow the traditional beliefs of your family, friends, denomination or country? Did you get baptized the right way, by the right person?
