“And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal and walk as men?”
What is your spiritual stage of development? Are you born again? Are you a babe in Christ? Are you feeding on milk, when you should have matured? Consider this critical concept: no matter how extensive or deep your knowledge of the Scriptures, if you are not born again, you are as lost as the most adamant atheist. The babe must be born before it can grow to its full potential. Paul’s Mission as a church planter required that he feed a lot of babies. He carried the meat of God’s Word within his heart, but it was not always appropriate to share it. Have you tried to feed meat to one who has not even come out of the spiritual womb? Were you frustrated that they didn’t understand?
