“So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.”
How important is your Mission? How vital is your role in God’s Plan? Are yours any more critical to His success than someone else’s? Contrast Paul’s words with what Job said in yesterday’s entry. Both these men of faith saw the truth regarding human existence: without God, life is meaningless. Think about your own salvation and the process that brought you to the point of decision to accept Christ. Do you remember who the planters were? Did you even notice who was watering His seeds in your life? How many sowers and cultivators did the Lord use to reach you? Fortunately, their reward does not depend on whether you were aware of, or remember their work. Your heart became a permanent member of a building that will not crumble. Planter, irrigator, stalk or ear, God’s husbandry won’t wither in death.
